What Are Kimochis?
Kimochi (KEY.MO.CHEE) means “feeling” in Japanese.
Kimochis® are a playful way to help children learn how to identify and express feelings. When children can communicate their feelings effectively, they develop positive social skills that lead to lasting friendships and are useful in all aspects of life.
Kimochis® are a set of cuddly plush characters and feelings pillows which are used by educators, professionals and parents worldwide. They are a fun and interactive way to help children recognise and regulate emotions, develop strong communication and social skills and build lasting relationships.
Each character has their own personality and can be used as a teaching tool in the classroom or at home in everyday situations as well as a through the child's imaginative play.
The Kimochis® curriculum seeks to help children become respectful, resilient, responsible, compassionate and kind. Lessons enable educators to facilitate group sessions for students to gain social and emotional skills and practice them through role plays with the Kimochis® characters.
Training
Our certified Kimochis® Training equips individuals to use Kimochis® in their context. It includes emotion coaching theory, detailed information on Kimochis® characters, the Keys to Communication, and Feelings Activities. With hands on practical exercises, participants are equipped with the key concepts of Kimochis® and be encouraged on their Kimochis® journey.
Kimochis® Foundations Training is available for individuals via zoom (Australia wide) or in person at Edwardstown (SA). Private groups bookings for early learning centres, schools and other organisations are available by appointment.
Kimochis® Advanced Training is designed to take your knowledge of Kimochis® to a new level and is available to organisations on request.
Kimochis® Live
Our exclusive Kimochis® Live Shows are now available in South Australia!
With larger-than-life characters, our team brings the Kimochis® to life with singing, dancing, and a message to help children understand both their emotions and as well as the emotions of those around them. CAT and BUG bring the excitement, and the shows provide an interactive theatrical experience to the children while delivering more of the Kimochis® messages we all love.
